Nathan has shown himself to be conscientious, hardworking, and connected. During the internship, Nathan learned and then investigated the Third Party Software License Assessment (TPSLA) tool. In his first task, Nathan investigated the TPSLA functions embedded in the MS EXCEL VBAs that are used to search for, parse and organize the different copyrights and licenses. Even though Nathan did not fully understand VBA (embedded in the Microsoft excel) in the beginning, he took initiative to use LM resources and learn VBA by himself virtually. On top of that, he used his knowledge to create different fixes in the tool for the TPSLA inference and parse functions based on content and proximity location. During each weekly meetup I had with him, Nathan proved to be attentive and collaborative. Nathan has discussed and looked through different ideas and thoughts to different problems and solutions both for me and with me. In one problem instance, we discussed the issue that the embedded word document would not save correctly within the EXCEL (causing a stop work). Nathan successfully identified and recreated this problem. He discussed different ideas that further strengthened our understanding of the problem.
